The mobile application is designed to assist car services in managing interactions with clients, from receiving the car for repairs to returning it to the client. In turn, Shell, as a lubricants supplier, can offer their products for specific maintenance tasks.
Before designing the application, several months of research were undertaken to understand how car services currently operate and identify their needs. The team conducted dozens of interviews with car service owners and managers. We ran several rounds of user testing, ultimately arriving at an adjusted version that comprehensively addresses all the users' needs.
The home screen displays cars that are currently in service for the day. The car service manager can view maintenance statuses, contact owners, and accept new cars.
The manager can effortlessly scan a license plate or car registration document to locate a client. In the case of a new client, the app extracts most of the data from the VIN, enabling the addition of a new client to the database on the go. Optionally, the information can be manually adjusted as needed.
The car card displays comprehensive information about the car and enables the manager to edit details and input the current mileage before accepting the vehicle. The manager can also view the distance the car has covered since its last visit.

Based on the claims, the app suggests a list of tasks and estimates the time required. Additionally, it includes materials for specific tasks that are recommended for this particular car.
The final step before taking over the car is inspecting it and recording any defects to prevent disputes later. Managers can either take a photo or, within the same interface, tap and hold the record button to capture a video while walking around the car. After this process, the car is added to the list of vehicles scheduled for work today.
The project was well-received by the client and subsequently taken up for development by their development team.
